Dear Mid Sussex Netball Members
I hope you are all staying safe and well.
Although the government has started to lift restrictions, England Netballs guidelines remain the same that no more than 6 players can participate in training activities.
With the Clubs current group numbers and various venues this is seen as impractical to implement. We also use a lot of schools for training and match venues, with current restrictions placed on them it is unlikely that they will open their doors to external hirers at this time, and with Leisure centre not being included in the latest rule chance and not likely to be able to open their doors until mid /late July.
We are therefore taking the decision as a club to remove the uncertainty for our Coaches and Members and confirm that we will not be returning to any form of operation before September 2020 at the earliest.
We understand this may be disappointing and a strange end to the Term, but we feel this is in the best interest of the Club and its members at this time. We hope this will also allow the club and coaches time to plan and focus on the New 2020/21 season, whatever form this takes and our members to stay safe in these strange times.
England Netball have committed to publish a road map for the planned return to recreational netball by the end of June and we will be guided very much by what this says along with both Government guidance and also advice from our netball venues .
Once we have a clearer idea of when and what form netball may take, we will ensure this is communicated out to all members and parents.
Individual coaches are looking at how they can conclude the year for their individual Groups, and I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
In the meantime, we will take this opportunity to do some housekeeping, and preparation for the new season, so please do watch out for our Newsletter coming out at the end of this month, this will have instructions on how to register for the New Season. Look out for some great Virtual Netball Invitations from England Netball too.
In the meantime, if you have any questions please do get in contact with your coach or a committee member and stay safe, stay healthy and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
Many Thanks
MSN Committee, Coaches and volunteers.
